Crews Respond To Fire On Middle Gulf Drive

Sanibel Fire & Rescue District responded to 1341 Middle Gulf Dr. at 9:09 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, after smoke was seen coming from the eves and vents. Firefighters made access through the roof and quickly extinguished the fire. Cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fort Myers Beach Fire Department and Iona McGregor Fire District also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Sanibel fire crews responded to 29 additional calls from Nov. 19 to Dec. 1:

Water-related rescue: 1 on Tuesday, Nov. 23
Electrical wiring or equipment problem: 2
Good intent call: 2
Canceled en route: 4
Steam mistaken for smoke: 1
System malfunction or unintentional alarm: 5
