The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village welcomes the community to its holiday celebration.

The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village is scheduled to reopen for the season and are planning a special holiday celebration on Friday, Dec. 1. The regular operating schedule, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays,  will resume on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The celebration on Dec. 1, “Deck the Shore,” will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Welcome remarks will be given at 4 p.m. and a Lighthouse themed tree lighting ceremony will be at 5:45 p.m. In between, guests can stroll the Historical Village while enjoying cookies, treats, wine, cheese and punch. Guests will also be serenaded with Christmas carols by the BIG ARTS Community Chorus from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m.

Next door, BIG ARTS will be hosting an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. with an appearance from Santa Claus, artist demonstrations and refreshments. Both events that evening will be free of charge.
