Tarpon Bay Explorers is offering a 25 percent discount on all rentals and tours for residents of Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties through September.
Paddle a kayak through the mangrove tunnels; ride a bike through the heart of the refuge on Wildlife Drive or look for dolphins and manatees with a bird’s eye view on a paddleboard. Locals with a passion for fishing can rent a pontoon boat to explore the back-bay waters of the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Tarpon Bay Explorer also offers Hobie fishing kayak rentals for avid anglers.
“We hope locals take advantage of the discounts,” said Assistant Manager, Adam Sauerland. “The past year and a half has been difficult for everyone so hopefully people can enjoy themselves, the bay and the discount.”
Locals can also launch their own watercraft between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a $7 (plus tax) park and launch fee ($15 plus tax for motorized vessels).
What better way to enjoy the off season by exploring local waters within one of the most beautiful places in Southwest Florida without the crowds or lines. Kayaks, canoes, paddleboards & bike rentals are first come, first serve. Hobie fishing kayaks and pontoons require a reservation. All tours recommend a reservation as well. Please bring your Florida I.D. to verify your residency. Call the shop for more info or reservations at 239-472-8900.
