The Sanibel Historical Village has recently announced that two island businesses will be sponsors of the Village’s Gala Movie Premiere on Feb. 22, 2022, when it will show the documentary “Secrets & Stories of the Sanibel Lighthouse.” The Shack will be a platinum donor in-kind, and Doc Ford’s will be a gold sponsor.

“These donations make all the difference in the success of our gala, and a successful gala means we will be able to pursue improvements and enhancements to the Village exhibits. We are so grateful to these sponsors,” said Village Executive Director Emilie Alfino. “We could never fulfill our mission of preserving, sharing, and celebrating Sanibel History without them.”

The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In accordance with the City of Sanibel’s regulations, masks are required inside the buildings at this time. Guided tours are available once again at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., depending on docent availability. There is no extra charge for these tours and no advance reservations are required.

The Sanibel Historical Village is located at 950 Dunlop Road (next to BIG ARTS). Admission is $10 for adults over 18. Members and children are free. The village has handicap access to all but one building, the tiny Post Office. For more information, call (239) 472-4648 during museum hours or visit www.sanibelmuseum.org.
