FISH of Sanibel-Captiva announces its 2026 Board officers, welcomes new members, and honors outgoing leaders.

After years of dedicated leadership, John Morse transitions into the role of Past Board Chair. FISH extends heartfelt thanks to John for guiding the organization through pivotal initiatives, championing community outreach, and strengthening FISH’s mission.

Susan Ryckman has been elected Board Chair beginning in 2026. As Board Chair, Susan will preside over meetings, provide vision and direction for Board initiatives, and facilitate organizational governance, bringing a strong sense of purpose, continuity, and a commitment to FISH’s mission as she steps into this leadership role. Bill Hayles will serve as Board Vice Chair, assisting the Chair and stepping in as needed to ensure operational and strategic continuity, continuing his long-standing involvement and support of FISH’s work.

“FISH is in very good hands with our 2026 Board of Directors,” said Maggi Feiner, President & CEO of FISH. “This group brings experience, fresh perspective, and deep care for our island community. Their leadership will help FISH focus on what matters most—showing up for our neighbors, strengthening our programs, and ensuring we’re positioned for current and future needs. I’m grateful for the strong foundation built by our past officers and excited about our future.”

FISH thanks Jim Brady and Kathy Samson for their significant contributions. Jim enhanced community partnerships, while Kathy improved board operations; both made a lasting positive impact as their board terms concluded.

Joining the Board in 2026 are Lisa Drews and Audrey Stewart, both with strong island ties and a commitment to service. Lisa, a former CPA and Accounting Manager, volunteers with FISH and serves on the Finance Committee. She and her husband, Dave, have called Sanibel home since 2009.

Audrey Stewart, a Florida Gulf Coast University graduate, helped grow her family’s business, Adventures in Paradise, and has served on local civic boards. She currently supports FISH as a JOG N JAM Committee member.

FISH of SanCap is grateful to all board members—past, present, and new—who give their treasure, time, and talent to ensure neighbors on Sanibel and Captiva continue to receive support when it matters most.
