A local handyman suffered a serious accident, losing income and facing mounting medical bills and possible loss of housing. FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, through its Helping Hands program and funding from the Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation, provided rent assistance, help with medical costs, food, and regular well-being checks.

This support allowed the individual to focus on recovery without added financial stress. FISH’s Social Services Director noted that unexpected crises can happen to anyone, and programs like Helping Hands are crucial for bridging gaps left by rising costs and limited savings.

FISH remains committed to helping individuals and families recover and move forward. More information is available at fishofsancap.org.
