FISH of SANCAP is partnering with the Captiva Civic Association to present a memory impairment workshop at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 at the CCA, 11550 Chapin Lane, Captiva, led by the Dubin Center. There will also be a virtual option via Zoom.
The Dubin Center provides assistance and support to those with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related diseases, as well as their caregivers, through information, referrals, counseling, health education and crisis intervention. In the workshop, participants will gain insight into what is like to live with memory impairment and how to navigate the challenges of caring for someone with dementia-related illnesses.
FISH Education and Outreach Director Jennifer Pagano said, “This is an opportunity for anyone who is caring for or knows someone with a dementia-related illness to learn more about specific needs. Information about care, behaviors, resources, living arrangements or daily challenges will be openly discussed, with time allotted for questions and answers.”
Anyone who wishes to participate virtually in the workshop can contact FISH at 239-472-4775. Those attending in-person must adhere to CCA COVID guidelines, which include wearing a face covering inside the building, and social distancing is encouraged. For more information, contact the CCA
