Free tickets for this year’s 33rd annual Sam Bailey’s Islands Night baseball at Lee Health Sports Complex in Fort Myers on Friday, May 8, currently are available online here.

Bank of the Islands again has stepped up to the plate to support the SanCap Chamber as Homerun Sponsor. Bailey’s General Store sponsors the first-ever Islands’ Night drone presentation.

“We are excited to introduce this year a post-game drone show to one of the SanCap Chamber’s most well-loved traditions,” said chamber president and chief executive officer John Lai. “Islands Night brings together island residents, island businesses, and America’s favorite pastime to celebrate the end of a successful season and triumph over the great strides we’ve made these past years.”

The event begins as the gates open at 5:45 p.m. The night’s entertainment starts at 5:50 with the traditional islanders parade around the field, showcasing businesses and organizations from Sanibel and Captiva islands. At 7:05 p.m., the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels Florida State League baseball team meets the Tampa Tarpons for on-field action.

“Islands Night is a time to bring islanders together for fun, promotion, community support, and camaraderie,” said Lai. “It honors the late Sam Bailey, a former athlete and island pioneer who started the tradition more than 30 years ago.”
