Through collective buying power, the Greater Fort Myers and Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce is now able to offer small-business members competitive, large-plan pricing on 401(k) employee retirement programs, effective as of Oct. 1.
“This is huge for our members who are looking to attract, retain, and reward employees with substantial benefits, but cannot afford an inhouse or outsourced retirement program,” said John Lai, chamber president and chief executive officer. “By forming a cooperative of sorts, the chamber is able to negotiate pricing typically reserved for big employers.”
The Employer Aggregation Program gives each business access to its own 401(k) at group-scale pricing and support. After vetting options, the chamber is collaborating with AAA-rated Northwestern Mutual as its preferred vendor and financial advisor, and Voya Financial as the plan recordkeeper.
The team offers full retirement-plan services with professional portfolio management, access to local financial planners, complete fiduciary support, recordkeeping, and administration oversight.
