The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) has announced the four guest judges for the 38th Taste of the Islands from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Sanibel Community Park.
The judging panel will consist of Artis Henderson, author and Gulfshore Life culinary contributor, Gina Birch, award winning local editor for USA Today’s “10Best”, Karen Feldman, Florida Weekly Food & Wine Editor, and Chef Jarred Harris, Sanibel Community House resident chef. The four judges will vote for their favorite dishes that are entered into five categories: “Best Appetizer”, “Best Seafood”, “Best Meat”, “Best Vegetarian” and “Best Dessert”. The panel will also award the “Taste of the Taste” for the best dish from the five category winners.
Fourteen restaurants from Sanibel and Captiva will be participating in Taste of the Islands, CROW’s largest fundraising event, and will be offering mouth-watering selections for everyone to try at a cost of six CROW Bucks or less.
Admission to Taste of the Islands, which can be purchased online through Thursday, November 7 or at the event, is $7 for adults and free for children less than 12 years of age. Attendees of the Taste cast ballots to decide the winner of the coveted “People’s Choice” award, the fan favorite.
