Harkey Sea Turtle Rehab Facility Prepares to Welcome Patients

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

Routine water quality testing was underway on July 23 at Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife’s Harkey Sea Turtle Complex on Sanibel Island. CROW’s Wildlife Rehabilitator Chris Gorman performs the testing, which includes salinity, temperature, pH, and various other water quality indicators. Following final permit approval from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the facility will be ready to accept sea turtle patients requiring treatment and rehabilitation. The facility has four pools with their own filtration and a smaller hatchling pool. Learn more about CROW here.
