The 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. Committee announces Il Cielo as the premier sponsor of the 11th annual foot race that attracts hundreds of runners from across the globe who come together in support of F.I.S.H. of SANIBEL CAPTIVA.

“We are delighted to support such an amazing organization as F.I.S.H.” said Il Cielo General Manager Marcus Preece. “We are a small team of passionate people and understand the importance of the services F.I.S.H. provides. Plus, the 10K is a fun event that seems to grow in popularity each year.”

Il Cielo, meaning “the sky,” is under construction and will reopen in the fall with a new kitchen, an enclosed patio with seating and a redesigned dining room that will no longer feature the six curved glass walls etched by renowned island artist Luc Century. The refreshed menu of creative American cuisine will emphasize locally sourced food curated by the chef. Il Cielo has received the Best Seafood and Taste of the Taste awards in 2016 and 2017 from the annual Taste of the Islands sponsored by Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife. It’s also earned Diner’s Choice 2016 from OpenTable and received a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor. To learn more, visit ilcielosanibel.com.

“Marcus and his team at Il Cielo have been very supportive of F.I.S.H. through the 10K for the past few years and we are grateful for them,” said 10K Committee Co-Chair Ed Ridlehoover.

The 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H. will be at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 with the start and finish line at the historic Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way. This year’s race will feature a kid’s run for those 10years and younger at the Sanibel Community Park. It’s free of charge, but registration is required. Registration is open at ftmyerstrackclub.com or print an entry form at fishofsancap.org. Cost is $40 for those who register before Oct. 20, $45 from Oct. 21-25 and $50 on race day.
