Jerry’s Foods has become a sponsor of FISH of SANCAP’s Jog N Jam event on Saturday, Dec. 7. The grocer, founded by Gerald “Jerry” Paulsen, is known for its commitment to the community throughout its nearly 40 years of business on the island.

“There are two things we are passionate about – food and our neighbors,” said Jerry’s General Manager Rick Winningham. “By supporting FISH, we know we are giving back to our community in a positive way.”

Winningham said the organization’s neighbors helping neighbors’ philosophy aligns perfectly with their belief that “everyone deserves nutritious food and a friendly smile.”

Jog N Jam runners will line up for a 10K or 5K road race, and children will lace up their shoes for a “fun run” designed for them. The event will continue on the beach with an evening concert and fireworks finale.

The beachside concert will feature the energetic band Funk You, known for their lively cover songs and top hits that will have everyone dancing in the sand. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. at ‘Tween Waters Resort on Captiva. Transportation to the concert is included in the ticket price.

“We’re thrilled to give back and support FISH, which is such an essential part of life on these islands,” said Winningham. “Our partnership with FISH reflects our shared commitment to the well-being and happiness of everyone in our community.”

Jog N Jam concert tickets are on sale now, and runner registration is open online here.

“It’s amazing to see so many businesses come together supporting FISH,” said race committee co-chair Diane Cortese. “Rick and the entire Jerry’s team have hearts of gold, and we’re so grateful for their continued generosity.”
