The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is pleased to announce the promotion of Peter J. Knize, J.D., LL.M., AEP® to Chief Fiduciary Officer, leading the Trust and Estate Administration team corporatewide. Knize is an Accredited Estate Planner with over two decades of experience who works closely with clients and their families to create customized wealth & estate planning, taxation, and inheritance strategies designed for their specific needs.

Prior to joining the firm, Peter served as Senior Vice President of Trust Services at a regional trust company where he worked with high-net-worth clients to deliver advanced estate planning and tax strategies. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Florida where he focused on estate planning, trust and estate administration, guardianship, taxation, corporate law, business succession, real estate, and trust & probate litigation.

Knize obtained his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master of Laws, Estate Planning, from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Lee County Bar Association (former director), as well as the Collier County Bar and the American Bar Associations, and Collier & Lee County Estate Planning Councils (past president). Peter teaches individual income taxation and fiduciary income taxation for the Florida Bankers Association’s Annual Trust & Wealth Management School.
