Learn About Sea Turtles at SCCF’s Evening at the Homestead

Join the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation for the second of its Evenings at the Homestead series this season to learn about research underway by special guest Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Dr. Justin Perrault on Thursday, Dec. 12. For his first presentation ever on Sanibel and Captiva, he will talk about ongoing research as well his collaboration with SCCF’s Sea Turtle Program Coordinator Kelly Sloan on how the 2018 red tide impacted sea turtles. Doors will open at 6pm for light refreshments, followed by the featured presentation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Director of Research at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, FL, Perrault has 13 years of experience working with sea turtles in the laboratory and field. Perrault, who is known for his upbeat and engaging way of presenting, will also talk about injury prevalence, plastics, and other red tide research including results and treatment strategies.
