LETTER: Vote For Library Commissioner Incumbents

The Santiva Chronicle publishes opinions and letters on topics that are important to Sanibel and Captiva. They may be submitted via e-mail at news@santivachronicle.com.

To the Editor,

The Sanibel Library is one of the preeminent libraries in the state of Florida as per the most recent ranking from the State of Florida’s Annual Statistical Report conducted by the Division of Library Services and Information. The Sanibel Library has consistently received such accolades from the State as well from other professional agencies such as America’s Star Libraries and the Library Journal. The library has also earned many Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence and is listed on Trip Advisor as one of the best places to visit on the island. Our library is exceptional and as residents we are extremely fortunate to have such an extraordinary resource.

A key reason that the Sanibel Library is exemplary is due to the outstanding management from the dedicated members of the Board of the Library. The Sanibel Public Library is governed by a publicly elected 7- member Board of Commissioners. Three of these commissioners, Susie Holly, Roy Gibson, and Barbara Ruben, are currently running for reelection in November. The community needs to support the candidacy of these three incumbent members as they have the experience and qualifications to serve and have been part of a Board which has shown conscientious management in keeping our library fiscally sound and in maintaining an award-winning library.

Let’s keep the Sanibel Library as one of the top libraries in the state and country! Vote for Susan Holly, Roy Gibson, and Barbara Ruben for the Board of the Library.

  1. Under the direction of these three incumbents the Sanibel Public Library has distinguished itself as a grooming center for the transgendering sterilization, mutilation, and castration of our precious children and grandchildren. They have purposefully allowed for placement of children’s books within hand’s reach that only serve to confuse a child’s young developing mind. In a word heinous.
To vote for them is to be complicit. There are very capable alternative candidates to vote for who will not act as they have done to harm the innocent and voiceless.
