Linda Garcia, a Senior Administrative Assistant in the Sanibel Police Department, was named Employee of the Second Quarter at the April 21 City Council meeting. Garcia has been with the department since 2022 and has received two promotions during that time.

“Linda is a seasoned public servant, having held several positions with the City of Alexandria, Virginia, prior to joining the Sanibel Police Department. Following Hurricanes Ian, Debbie, and Milton, Linda was a key staff member in the Hurricane Pass Reentry program, who worked tirelessly assisting hundreds upon hundreds of residents and business owners with obtaining their reentry hang tags,” said Crystal Mansell, Human Resources & Risk Management Director.

Some of the peer comments submitted with Garcia’s nomination include:

· “Linda accepts all tasks with a smile, and you can be assured she will handle those tasks efficiently, professionally, and correctly. She is the first to volunteer to help and the last to leave. She has great integrity and can be counted on in any situation.”

· “Linda is by far one of the easiest co-workers to work with. She is always willing to help and go the extra mile in whatever she does. Whether she is assisting co-workers or residents, she is always professional.”

Two employees who also received nominations for Employee of the Quarter are Dakota Phillips, Tradesworker, and Grace Towler, Police Lieutenant.
