Numerous local chefs will be joining forces to entertain attendees at the upcoming community reception for recently departed City Manager Judie Zimomra. The “open house” will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way.
The event, organized by a “Friends of Judie” committee representing island businesses, service groups, non-profit organizations and private citizens, will give the public an opportunity to show their appreciation to Ms. Zimomra for her 20 years of dedicated service to the Sanibel community.
Refreshments will be served during a social hour, following which a formal program will be presented honoring Ms. Zimomra. The light menu will include appetizers from a range of popular Sanibel eateries, giving attendees a chance to sample true sampling of Island favorites. Restaurants and food services signed up so far include: Doc Ford’s, Traders, Mudbugs, Sanibel Café, Bailey’s Sanibel Catering, Sanibel’s Best Homemade Ice Cream, 400 Rabbits, and the Sanibel Community Association.
Tickets to the event are not required, however for planning purposes all who wish to attend are asked to RSVP in advance by calling the Community House at 239-472-2155 or sending an email to: office@sanibelcommunityhouse.net.
