Love Sanibel Back, the community-based effort to support island businesses and host gatherings for residents and visitors, is working its way through the island with stops at several establishments on Middle Gulf Drive, mid-Periwinkle Way, and Dunlop Road, the week of July 20-26.
Sundial Resort and Spa, located on Middle Gulf Drive, will be the featured gathering spot at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Shima and Captain’s Catch, two restaurants situated on the resort’s property.
The first 20 guests will receive Love Sanibel Back buttons and totes. Additionally, Sundial is offering a special free pool and beach day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 21, with access to kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, tennis, pickleball, games, and kids’ activities included. RSVP is required by calling 866-565-5093 and mentioning Love Sanibel Back. The resort’s Turtle’s Tiki Bar is also open.
The Sanibel Sprout and Sanibel Community House on Periwinkle Way will be offering fresh iced tea free of charge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day of the week. The Community House will offer sales on shell festival merchandise, and a Shellcrafters class will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 21.
In addition, the Community House is hosting a Surf’s Up Happy Hour on July 22, featuring live beach music, door prizes, snacks, and specialty cocktails. It’s $5 for non-members and free of charge for members.
Visit the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village on Dunlop Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Be sure to make the trip on July 23, when the museum is offering admission free of charge and goodies.
BIGARTS will be having an open house on July 23 with swag bags to the first 50 visitors, 10 percent off in the gift shop, and a chance to win two free tickets to an event of your choice for the upcoming season.
Love Sanibel Back is an initiative started by St. Michael’s Church in partnership with the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, the SanCap Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Sanibel.
