The chamber presented annual business awards on the Hammond Stadium baseball field last year during Islands Night.

The SanCap Chamber has announced the date and venue for its 2024 annual meeting, celebrating 62 years of supporting island businesses. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 15, at the Sanibel Harbor Marriott Resort, 17260 Harbour Pointe Dr., Fort Myers. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. with the luncheon, annual presentation, and awards beginning at 11:30.

Tickets are $60 each, available through May 10. Members will receive invitations by email, or can visit sanibel-captiva.org to register.

During the business meeting, the chamber will introduce its new board of directors for 2024, share its 2022-2023 achievements, and announce the winners of its annual membership awards for Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Sue Rosica Gray Volunteer of the Year, and Citizen of the Year.

“We are excited to gather once again for a traditional annual meeting, after last year’s pivot to a combination annual meeting-Islands Night format due to Hurricane Ian,” said John Lai, chamber president and CEO. “We have a lot to celebrate and applaud this year, and a lot more to look forward to as our business community continually shows its strength and cohesiveness in the aftermath of disaster.”

Homerun Sponsor for the annual meeting, in conjunction with Islands Night on April 17, is Bank of the Islands. Other sponsors include: Triple Sponsors Bailey’s General Store and Island Store, and Sanibel Captiva Community Bank; Double Sponsors Alliant Property Management, LLC, “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society, Jerry’s Foods of Sanibel, Newport Property Construction, Sanibel Carts, and Whitney’s Bait & Tackle; and Single Sponsors Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, SCCF, and The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company.

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available for the event; contact Aaron Walton at aaron@sanibel-captiva.org to secure a sponsorship or for more information about the annual meeting.
