Minor Vehicle Crash Closes Periwinkle For Half Hour

Beth Ford of McCordsville, Ind., was traveling east on Periwinkle Way at 9:26 a.m. Saturday, April 9 when she slowed for traffic and the back of her vehicle was struck by a motorcycle operated by George Robinson of North Wildlwood, N.J. Robinson was evaluated by Lee County EMS at the scene, but he refused transport to the hospital.

The crash closed Periwinkle Way for about 30 minutes. Eastbound traffic was diverted to Donax Street and westbound traffic to Lindgren Boulevard.

Animal Reports

An alligator was reported Friday, April 15 in the driveway of home on Los Colony Road. When officers arrived, it was no longer on the scene.

A deceased dolphin was located Sunday, April 17 on the beach at Gulfside City Park and removed. No foul play suspected.

A 5-foot alligator was reported at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, April 21 in the middle of West Gulf Drive. When the officer arrived, the alligator was on the Shared Use Path. Due to the time of night, the alligator was not relocated.

An iguana was reported Thursday, April 21 on the beach in front of Ocean’s Reach.
