The Charitable Foundation of the Islands is pleased to announce that Pfeifer Realty Group has renewed its $15,000 sponsorship of the 2027 Volunteer Expo, marking the third consecutive year the company has powered this community-wide gathering. The Expo will take place Wednesday, January 27, 2027, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sanibel Community House.

With this year’s theme, “Together, We Can Make a Difference,” the Volunteer Expo will bring together 50 local nonprofit organizations, clubs, and community groups, connecting residents and visitors with meaningful opportunities to volunteer, build relationships, and contribute to the vitality of Sanibel and Captiva.

Pfeifer Realty Group’s continued investment reflects its commitment to civic engagement and community leadership across the islands. The Expo provides a welcoming entry point for people seeking to become more involved, whether they are new to the community, seasonal residents, or longtime islanders looking for new ways to serve.

“Mary Ellen and I believe that a strong community is built when people connect with one another and find ways to contribute,” said Eric Pfeifer, Broker-Owner of Pfeifer Realty Group and a CFI board member. “The Volunteer Expo makes those connections possible. It gives people an opportunity to discover organizations doing meaningful work and find their own place in the community. We’re proud to continue supporting an event that brings our islands together.”

The 2027 Expo will feature opportunities to meet local organizations, learn about volunteer needs, and discover ways to share individual skills, interests, and talents. Attendees will also receive a free copy of CFI’s 2027 Volunteer Directory, available in print at the event and online, providing a resource for discovering local nonprofits, clubs, and community opportunities throughout the year. Food and refreshments and event giveaways will add to the afternoon’s community atmosphere.

“Pfeifer Realty Group’s continued sponsorship is an investment in the people and organizations that make Sanibel and Captiva special,” said Dolly Farrell, executive director of CFI. “The Volunteer Expo is one of the ways we turn community spirit into community action. By helping residents connect with local organizations, we strengthen our nonprofit sector, cultivate future leaders, and create more opportunities for people to make a difference together.”

CFI launched the Volunteer Expo in 2023 as part of its mission to inspire philanthropy, leadership, and collaboration for the vitality of the island community. The 2026 event welcomed more than 500 attendees

and over 50 local nonprofit organizations, demonstrating strong community interest in service, connection, and civic engagement.

Registration for the 2027 Volunteer Expo opens November 1. Community members can find event information and register here.
