Police Charge Bokeelia Man With Felony Drug Possession

Sanibel Police arrested 49-year-old Tyler Knapp of Bokeelia, Fla., and charged him with felony possession of marijuana and six misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 29 at Sanibel Island Beach Resort, 1231 Middle Gulf Dr. Officers determined a domestic violence situation had not occurred, but found the marijuana and paraphernalia during a search of the unit to which Knapp gave consent, according to the report. Knapp was released Sept. 30 from the Lee County Jail.

Lacy Blair, 23, of North Fort Myers was charged with driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash at 7:24 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 in the 3500 block of Sanibel Captiva Road. Blair was released Sept. 27 from Lee County Jail.

Jane Espy of Sanibel was riding her bicycle at 2:04 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, on the Shared Use Path along Sanibel Captiva Road when she entered the crosswalk at Wulfert Road and was struck by a vehicle operated by Luz Sanchez-Alvarado of Fort Myers. Espy received minor injuries but was transported to Healthpark for further evaluation. Alvarado was found to have an expired driver’s license.
