Sanibel Police responded to two minor vehicle crashes last week.
Teresa Torres of Oviedo, Fla., was traveling west in the 1200 block of Periwinkle Way at 5:40 p.m. Monday, May 23 when she slowed for traffic and the back of her vehicle was struck by a vehicle operated by Jadon Ritz of Sanibel. Torres and her passenger Phillip Torres were treated for minor injuries by Lee County EMS at the scene.
A vehicle was traveling west in the 1200 block of Periwinkle Way at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, when it pulled into a business driveway then struck a second westbound vehicle as it re-entered the roadway. No further information was provided and no injuries were reported.
Animal Reports
A mother coyote without pups was sighted May 20 on Tarpon Bay Road near the marina.
A deceased pelican was reported May 22 on the beach near Algiers and it was removed.
An alligator was reported May 26 in the 4200 block of Sanibel Captiva Road and disrupting traffic. It was gone when officers arrived at the scene.
