Promo Video for SanCap Chamber With City Wins Award

At the center of last year’s $80,000 marketing campaign promoting tourism and relocation to Sanibel Island, the video Live. Work. Play. recently won a Silver Telly Award in the People’s Telly: General-Social Media category.

The SanCap Chamber and city of Sanibel joined forces to hire Simple Social of Fort Myers, the chamber’s publicity agency, to create and distribute the video. The agency then entered the 30-second video into the 47th annual Telly Awards competition.

“We knew immediately it was an effective tool for showing markets from regional Florida areas to the Midwest and Northeast the lifestyle our islands embody,” said John Lai, president and chief executive officer of SanCap Chamber. “Clickthrough numbers were through the roof. It’s just what we needed after the devastation of three hurricane hits in three years. We thank Simple Social for that and congratulate the team for its winning efforts.”

The video succinctly describes island life to an up-beat with language like “It’s sunset every night and zero traffic lights.” It appeared on social media platforms mid-June through December 2025 and now lives on YouTube.

“Simple Social did an outstanding job capturing the unique character and quality of life that make Sanibel such a special place to live, work, and visit,” said Eric Jackson, public information officer for the City of Sanibel. “The city appreciates the partnership with the SanCap Chamber and Simple Social on this successful campaign, which helped support local businesses, strengthen community recovery efforts, and reinforce Sanibel’s position as one of Florida’s premier coastal communities. We congratulate the entire team on this well-deserved recognition.”

The Telly Awards recognizes excellence in video and television across all screens. Established in 1979, the awards receive over 13,000 entries globally. For the People’s Telly Awards, judges select nominees for the general public to vote for online.
