Sanibel Bicycle Club Encourages Biking

provided to Santiva Chronicle

During these days of social distancing, we are fortunate that Sanibel Island features more than 26 miles of Shared Use Path for biking and hiking. Recently, members of the Sanibel Bike Club riding independently on the path stopped to take a moment to catch up while maintaining public health recommendations for individuals to maintain a six-foot distance. We are grateful for Sanibel and its bike trails. Exercise and sunshine are good for the body and mind. We hope you continue to get out there and bike!

Interested in biking? The Sanibel Bike Club is a group of cycling enthusiasts at all levels of ability. The club always welcomes new members to share its on- and off-island rides and its monthly potlucks. Detailed information about the Club and how to join is available at sanibelbicycleclub.org. We hope to see you on the trails.

  1. 🚲 Also FYI, there’s some great conversation right now on Twitter regarding the need to massively expand bike paths everywhere, in support of public health. See @BikeLeague (League of American Bicyclists) and @Kenmcld or @BikesFlorida . #BikesRising ⬆️
