Trailways Camps recently hosted 300 guests including former campers, their caregivers and volunteers at its “I AM SPECIAL” Camper Reunion on Saturday, April 5. The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company was an event sponsor and company volunteers hosted a table of campers and their caregivers.
The event brought together former campers to celebrate their birthdays and enjoy games, awards, music and dancing hosted by Trailways Camps.
The organization was started by Sharon and Jerry Miller to honor their sons, Robert and Ben, who were born with a rare disease and severe disabilities. Trailways Camps enables adults with special needs, and those who care for them, to develop their social, emotional and spiritual relationships.
“Trailways Camps is an outstanding organization, and we are proud to support its mission and this incredible event,” said The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company Founder and Chairman S. Albert D. Hanser. “The difference Trailways Camps makes in the lives of individuals with disabilities is palpable and we are honored to be a part of it in any way we can.”
