The League of Women Voters of Sanibel will host a Public Candidate Forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at BIG ARTS, 900 Dunlop Rd., for the Sanibel General Election on Tuesday, March 4. Four candidates have been certified to run for three open City Council seats.
The candidate forum is in-person, and the auditorium doors will open at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome and urged to attend.
The four Council candidates are Laura DeBruce, John Henshaw, Michael Miller, and Lyman “Chip” Welch. The Forum moderator will be Professor Roger Green, head of the FGCU Political Science Department. The questions will be posed in a balanced way, including ample time for questions from the audience.

It is the mission of the League of Women Voters of Sanibel to encourage informed and active participation in government. League-hosted events have been held in high regard for their non-partisan content and their use of tried and true best practices.
Sanibel registered voters who intend to vote in this municipal election must re-enroll online at the lee.vote website. Recent state legislation requires that you re-enroll after every general election. Vote-by-mail requests for this election must be made by Feb. 20. If you are changing your mailing address, this must be in writing with the form available at the lee.vote website, signed by the voter, and sent to the Supervisor of Election office and received by Feb. 20.
