Sanibel Man Charged with Aggravated Assault, Battery

Alexander Scott of Sanibel was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery Aug. 18 after police were called to his home on Seaspray Lane to investigate a domestic dispute.

Scott, 33, was involved in a verbal argument with his father when the victim stepped in before it became physical. Scott had initially walked away and the father left the home in his vehicle. The victim told police Scott then came into his bedroom and verbally assaulted him before striking him several times in the face as he sat in a chair.

Scott reportedly pulled out a pocket knife during the altercation, but the victim was able to knock it out of his hand. Scott then fled the scene and police later found him emerging from a wooded area near the home.

Scott was released Aug. 20 from Lee County Jail on a $20,000 bond. He has a court date scheduled for Sept. 20.
