Sanibel Police arrested 67-year-old Kenneth Boone of Goodland, Fla., on Saturday, March 16 and charged him with burglary and grand theft. Boone remains in custody at the Lee County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
Police received a report of a burglary in process on March 16 as the homeowner was observing it on their video surveillance system. While en route, officers spotted a vehicle and driver matching the homeowner’s description and performed a felony stop.
Boone was detained and the homeowner identified the stolen items which were in plain site in his vehicle. Boone’s vehicle also matches descriptions in several ongoing burglary investigations on Sanibel, according to police. Boone has a court appearance schedule for April 15.
Other Arrests
Constance Fugate of Sanibel was arrested and charged with drug possession on March 14 following a traffic stop for excessive speed. Fugate was released the same day from the Lee County Jail.
Carly Hulse of Fort Myers was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on March 16, after officers responded to a single vehicle accident. She was released from the Lee County Jail on March 17.

A traffic stop was imitated on a vehicle for excessive speed on March 19 and the driver was subsequently issued a criminal citation for unlawful speed – 65 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

A traffic stop was initiated March 19 on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was issued a criminal citation for never having a driver’s license issued.
