Sanibel Rec Center’s Water Features Closed for Repairs

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

The City of Sanibel Recreation Department announced on Wednesday, Oct. 21, that the Recreation Center’s water features pool and splash pad will remain closed following a technical evaluation by an independent firm.

The evaluation identified issues that require substantial repairs, so the affected aquatic facilities will remain closed until the necessary work is completed. The water features pool and splash pad will remain closed until further notice.

The city has not set a reopening date. To better accommodate members during this closure, staff is working to extend lap pool hours and will provide an update once the new operating hours are confirmed.

The City of Sanibel thanks our recreation center members, residents, and visitors for your continued patience and understanding.
