The Sanibel Recreation Center will be closed from Saturday, July 31 to Sunday, Aug. 8 in order to complete numerous maintenance projects. The facility will reopen Monday, August 9. All of the major projects have been scheduled during this time in an effort to minimize the inconvenience to patrons as many of the projects are odiferous and disruptive.
The Youth Summer Camp program will not be offered the week of Monday, July 31 during the facility maintenance closure. Youth programming will resume with Fun Day on Monday, Aug. 9 for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. This program operates from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Beach Parking Permits will be available for purchase from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 6 at the front entry of the Recreation Center, 3880 Sanibel-Captiva Rd. When applying for a Beach Parking Permit, please remember to bring a valid vehicle registration for each vehicle AND a valid state issued identification or driver’s license. Payment may be made via cash, check, MasterCard or Visa.
