Sanibel School Earns Top 10 Ranking in Florida

The Sanibel School educates students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, and was ranked No. 10 in Florida for elementary and middle schools by U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News & World Report recently released their rankings for the 2024 Best Elementary and Middle Schools in the United States. The Sanibel School, which educates students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, earned Top 10 spots for both elementary and middle school rankings in Florida.

The report, which included 45,236 elementary schools and 22,053 middle schools in the nation, calculated student performance in mathematics and reading within each state and school district. The Sanibel School was ranked No. 10 for Florida Elementary School and No. 5 for Florida Middle Schools. It earned the No. 1 spot for elementary and middle schools in the Lee County School District.

“We are very proud of The Sanibel School, it’s teachers, staff and students,” said Sanibel City Councilman John Henshaw. “The helped us maintain a vibrant and multi-generational community. They are the future of Sanibel.”
