Coastal Healthcare officially opened Feb. 12 with a SanCap Chamber ribbon-cutting at 2330 Palm Ridge Road on Sanibel Island. Founder and nurse practitioner Kirsten Lamb brings added convenience to island medical offerings with flexible scheduling, telehealth availability, health optimization, weight management, IV hydration, and personalized whole-person care.
“Offering both direct primary care and urgent care in one place is huge for the islands,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and chief executive officer. “As we restore the health of Sanibel and Captiva, we welcome Kirsten and her impressive background in improving and ensuring the physical health of our residents and visitors with custom care and walk-in accessibility.”
With a master’s degree in nursing from West Virginia University, Lamb completes her doctorate in nursing practice in May at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers. She has served as a nurse practitioner since 2015 and has experience in general surgery, primary care, and wound care. She is also familiar with the community.
“Sanibel has been special to me since childhood,” said Lamb. “I vacationed here as a child, and my parents retired here. I love the small-town feel, nature, and sense of community, and I’m inspired by Sanibel’s resiliency and growth, especially following Hurricane Ian. I’m grateful for the warm welcome and support from the community and the chamber.”
Lamb’s approach to medical care concentrates on proactive wellness options, she said. Visits can be designed to be more thorough and supportive than a typical urgent-care experience.
