The Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association will hold its October Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Doc Ford’s. SCBWA member Alison Hussey of the CROW will be speaking to the group about the rebuilding efforts of CROW post-Hurricane Ian.
Hussey became the Executive Director of CROW in 2019. She works with the Board of Directors, the Hospital and Visitor Education Staff, the wonderful volunteers, and the community to further CROW’s mission. Hussey oversees the day-to-day operations of the CROW campus as well as involving herself in community outreach. She works to create a sense of collaboration and attitude of teamwork throughout the organization, the donors, and community partners.
A lifelong resident of Lee County, Hussey brings her professional and legal background with her to CROW. Prior to her career at CROW, Hussey was a partner at Pavese Law Firm serving in the LaBelle and Cape Coral offices. She is also a Supreme Court Certified Circuit and Family Mediator and has helped resolve disputes for more than a decade. She earned her law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga.
In regards to speaking to SCBWA, Hussey states, “I love my SCBWA ladies and the support we give each other. CROW is blessed to have so much support from this organization both individually and as a group.”
Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association is dedicated to empowering and supporting the women who work and live on the islands through networking, mentorship, continuing education and career advancement.
SCBWA aims to serve the community by offering an inclusive, supportive and diverse group of women supporting women. Our focus is the advancement of women’s career development targeted to workers, aspiring workers and the residents of Sanibel and Captiva. The group meets every third Tuesday of the month at various businesses and restaurants at noon.
