Sanibel Captiva Business Women’s Association will host its March Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at Rosalita’s Cantina with Noreen Harrington as the featured speaker.

Harrington is president of an artificial intelligence company called DataWhys. Harrington continues to work on private investment with other partners in Oceanus Partners. Her traditional Wall Street career started nearly four decades ago.

During her career she became a managing director at Goldman Sachs, head of Hedge Funds and Non-Dollar Sales in the Fixed Income Division globally and co-head of Barclays Capital Fixed Income Trading and a member of the management committee. She was based in London for six years and built-up numerous contacts throughout the world.

Harrington is more publicly recognized as the whistler-blower in the mutual fund scandals. Her efforts lead to the end of late trading and market timing abuses and created industry reforms that benefit and protect an estimated 95 million investors. To date there has been more than $7 billion in fines collected by various government agencies.

Taylor Osborne, SCBWA President states her enthusiasm about the March Luncheon. “March is a special month for SCBWA as we recognize Women’s History Month and the strides women have made in history,” she said.

“Women’s History month is dedicated to paying tribute to the achievements of women leaders both past and present. I can’t think of a more suited speaker to join us than Noreen Harrington. We are truly honored to have her as our special guest speaker,” said Osborne.

A special thanks to lunch sponsor, Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, for solidifying the speaker and being a supporter. SCBWA is dedicated to empowering and supporting the women who work and live on the islands through networking, mentorship, continuing education and career advancement.

SCBWA aims to serve the community by offering an inclusive, supportive and diverse group of women supporting women. Our focus is the advancement of women’s career development targeted to workers, aspiring workers and the residents of Sanibel and Captiva. The group meets every third Tuesday of the month at various businesses and restaurants at noon.
