The Adams family has visited Sanibel for 14 years, and in 2020 Dawn and Ben purchased their home in East Rocks. After Ian, they rebuilt their home and embraced their dream of becoming permanent residents of the island, where they will live out their retirement dreams together. They have cherished countless moments shelling and walking the beach as a family, but the magical experience of finding a Junonia had always eluded them—until now. Last weekend, as they wandered the West End shore, the joy and astonishment on Dawn’s face were unforgettable when she looked down and saw a beautiful Junonia shell rolling across the sandy bottom. They were awestruck, overcome by the wonder of the moment.

“Life as full-time residents feels extraordinary, filling us with deep gratitude and a sense of wonder every day for the opportunity to spend our lives together here,” said Dawn.
