‘Tween Waters Continues Tree Lighting Tradition

One tradition will continue on Captiva post Hurricane Ian. ‘Tween Waters Island Resort and Spa announced its beachfront Tree Lighting Celebration will go on from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 at the resort, 15951 Captiva Dr. Admission and parking are free of charge, but open only to those with an approved Sanibel Hurricane Reentry Pass. This will be its 27th consecutive year.

“Although somewhat abbreviated due to hurricane aftermath, the evening provides the Sanibel and Captiva community the opportunity to gather, refocus on the positives and move the healing process forward,” says Doug Babcock, Chief Executive Officer of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts. “Every day is another day closer to normal. We know the event will bring smiles and hugs, and we promise to entertain with some long-time favorites.”

Those include:
• 6 to 7 p.m.: Steve Farst Band
• 7 p.m.Tree Lighting
• 7.10 p.m.: Fireworks Display (Pending Approval)
• CASH ONLY: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Chicken Sandwiches, Bar service

Free parking is available at ‘Tween Waters Captiva, as well as at the adjacent Captiva Yacht Club. Sanibel and Captiva Islands peace enforcement officers are strictly enforcing current curfews, meaning that resort guests must be on resort property from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. or be subject to arrest and fines. All others must be off island or at their residence no later than 9 p.m.
