Vehicle Crashes Into Bushes at Palm Ridge, Periwinkle

Sanibel Police were called at 11:48 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, to the area of Palm Ridge Road and Periwinkle Way, where a caller said his friend was nearly hit by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found an unoccupied vehicle crashed into the bushes and a male on the ground 15 feet way. The caller and friend were no longer at the scene.

John Caillau, 27, Fort Myers, was face down on the ground and initially unresponsive to officers. Sanibel Fire and Rescue District and Lee County Emergency Services responded to the scene, but Caillau declined any treatment. Due to no witnesses at the scene and a lack of evidence, Caillau was released to his father. And the vehicle was towed from the scene.
