Wines in the Wild Features Fine Wines Paired with Island Chef’s Delicacies

Guests will enjoy specialty wines paired with delicious bites at six stations throughout the grounds of SCCF’s Bailey Homestead.

With delectable dishes from six island chefs that are custom paired with a delightful range of specialty wines, Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation’s signature fundraiser Wines in the Wild is sure to be a memorable night under the stars.

“This year’s pairings will appeal to a broad spectrum of palates,” said Wines in the Wild co-founder Tom Uhler. “We’ll be introducing some lesser-known labels that will augment the amazing flavors our chefs have in store.”

Wines representing four of the world’s most intriguing regions are provided by Bailey’s and Sanibel Spirits this year. Uhler, who has earned the distinction of SCCF’s favorite wine educator, provides descriptions of each wine at stations throughout the sprawling grounds of the Bailey Homestead.

Food partners will serve up delicious small plates in a tour that meanders from appetizers through entrees all the way to dessert.

The sold-out fundraiser features chefs’ favorites from Sweet Melissa’s, Cielo, Tutti Pazzi, Catering by Leslie Adams, The Green Flash, and Pinocchio’s. Special thanks to the Bubbly Bee whose mobile beverage service will greet guests as they arrive.

Launched in 2008 by Linda and Tom Uhler, Wines in the Wild was created as an outdoor event for new and returning island residents to meet like-minded neighbors and SCCF team members.

It’s a great way to experience the warmth of our community and support SCCF’s historical role in protecting and caring for our coastal ecosystems.
