The Charitable Foundation of the Islands announces the opening of submissions for the 2026 Volunteer Directory, a comprehensive resource designed to showcase the diverse array of volunteer opportunities and service organizations throughout the Sanibel and Captiva communities.
CFI invites nonprofits, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and community initiatives to participate in this essential guide aimed at fostering greater community engagement and volunteerism.
This year introduces a new feature: organizations will have the opportunity to highlight their funding priorities, enabling potential volunteers and donors to align their support with causes that resonate most deeply.
To be included in the 2026 Volunteer Directory, organizations should request the submission form by contacting Savannah Kelly at skelly@sancapcfi.org. All completed submissions must be received by August 31, 2025.
The directory will be distributed throughout the season at various local events and partner venues, and will also be available at the 2026 Volunteer Expo, tentatively scheduled for late January 2026.

The 2025 Volunteer Expo was a resounding success, drawing over 500 attendees and featuring more than 50 organizations, underscoring the community’s robust commitment to service and collaboration.
CFI extends its gratitude to all participants from last year’s directory and Expo, and looks forward to building on this momentum with an even more expansive and impactful initiative in 2026.
Organizations interested in sponsoring the 2026 Volunteer Expo are encouraged to contact Savannah Kelly for sponsorship opportunities and additional information.
