Sanibel Public Library has planned in-person programs, including summer reading programs, weekly crafts, storytimes, special guests, and virtual author programs. The Library’s public online calendar has the most up-to-date information about programs for children and adults.
The Sanibel Public Library invites the community to attend a variety of upcoming programs, open to the public and designed for all age ranges. The following events are scheduled from Wednesday, July 30, through Saturday, August 9, 2025. Programs requiring registration are noted accordingly.
Weekly Recurring Programs:
• Crafternoon – for All Ages
On Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m., make a fun and engaging all-supplies-provided craft with staff guidance!
• Baby & Toddler Storytime Playdate – for Babies, Toddlers & Caregivers
On Tuesdays, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., bring your little ones for a fun-filled time of storytelling, sensory play, and early learning activities.
• Family Storytime – for Babies, Toddlers, Children & Caregivers
On Fridays, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., bring the whole family to enjoy stories, songs, movement, and early literacy play centers that spark creativity and motor skills.

• Harry Potter Birthday Celebration – for All Ages
On Thursday, July 31, from 6 – 8 p.m., all are encouraged to come dressed up in celebration of Harry Potter’s Birthday! Harry Potter-themed food and drinks, a rousing game of trivia, and crafts will be available!
• End of Summer Celebration – for All Ages
On Friday, August 1, from 10 a.m. – noon, join the end-of-summer reading celebration where raffle grand prizes will be awarded to all age groups and help hand over the donation of books from the Sanibel Public Library Foundation to the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
• Strengthen & Stretch with Ms. Robin – for Children of All Ages
On Saturday, August 2, from 10 -10:30 a.m., join yoga instructor Ms. Robin and learn how to combine energetic movements, playful stretches, and calming breathwork to help you feel strong, flexible, and focused.
• 3D printing workshop – for All Ages
On Monday, August 4, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., get a hands-on introduction to the technology, design basics, and practical applications of 3D Printing. Participants will learn software basics and watch a live printing demonstration.
• Virtual Author Talk: The Stories, Science, and History of Birds – for All Ages
On Tuesday, August 5, from 2 – 3 p.m., join Smithsonian Biologist Jay Falk as she delves into the fascinating world of birds through astonishing photography and clear explanations in the absorbing global guide, The Bird Book: The Stories, Science, and History of Birds. *Online Registration Required at: www.libraryc.org/sanlib
Sanibel Public Library offers “Computer Coach” services; book an appointment to bring in your device for technology assistance with Hoopla, Kanopy, Libby, and other Library apps. These apps allow Library cardholders to download eBooks, magazines, and audiobooks, or stream music and movies. Call the Library at (239) 472-2483 to schedule an appointment.
Sanibel Public Library cards are available to all residents of Sanibel and Lee County, at no charge. You must present your valid driver’s license (or similar government ID) to staff, showing your current Lee County address. Visitor cards for non-Lee County residents are available for a $10 fee and are good for one year. Computers, printers, scanners, and fax services as well as magazines and daily newspapers are also available. Sanibel Public Library summer hours are in effect from June 1 through August 31. The Library will be open 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday.
