FISH OF SANCAP invites the community to its JOG N JAM on Saturday, Dec. 7. Runners will line up for a 10K or 5K road race, and children will lace up their shoes for a “fun run” designed for them. The event will continue on the beach with an evening concert and fireworks finale.

“JOG N JAM is quickly becoming a favorite island event,” said FISH Executive Director Maria Espinoza. The FISH 10K road race was transformed into the JOG N JAM last year with the addition of live music.

The beachside concert will feature the energetic band Funk You, known for their lively cover songs and top hits that will have everyone dancing in the sand. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. at ‘Tween Waters Resort on Captiva. Transportation to the concert is included in the ticket price.

FISH has partnered with hotels on and off the island to offer discounted rates for JOG N JAM participants and their families and encourages everyone to stay for the entire fun-filled weekend or longer.

The weekend will be kicked off Friday, Dec. 6, with the Sanibel Luminary, where FISH will engage with the community and collect holiday items for the Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-a-Senior programs. And don’t forget the great Sanibel Farmer’s Market on Sunday, where FISH has a table.

This year’s JOG N JAM is being held in cooperation with the Lee County Tourist Development Council and is part of the City of Sanibel’s 50th anniversary extended celebration. It ultimately supports FISH’s vital programs and services.

“Our event brings the community together for a weekend of fun, fitness, and festivity, all while supporting the vital programs that help so many of our neighbors,” said Espinoza. “We encourage everyone to sign up, join the fun, and be our guest for a great cause.”

Race and concert tickets are on sale now, with the prices to increase on Oct. 1, so reserve early. Click here to purchase tickets or for partner hotel information.
