Southwest Florida is a slice of paradise that we all love but sometimes we forget to only leave behind sand after a day at the beach and trash starts to pile up. To keep our coastlines beautiful so everyone can enjoy a fun day in paradise, the team at Vectra Digital partnered with Lee County Parks and Recreation to clean up the Sanibel Causeway Beach in honor of Earth Month. Team members from a local engineering firm, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), joined Vectra for the cleanup on April 24.
With garbage bags in hand, the team worked on picking up trash on two of the Sanibel Causeway beaches. After two hours, about 100 pounds of trash were removed from the beach.
The Causeway Islands beach cleanup is just a part of efforts by Vectra Digital to give back to the community. During the holidays, the team participated in a step challenge, with Vectra providing the winner with a donation of $1,000 to the charity of their choice.
“Giving back to our community is something that we love doing,” said Albert Arguelles, CEO of Vectra Digital. “The support of Lee County Parks and Recreation and the team from JMT were a great help in making this a success. We look forward to doing this again in the future as we work to help preserve our area for all to enjoy.”
