Have you ever wondered, “What should I plant here?” Join the Barrier Island Master Gardener Volunteers of Lee County for “Right Plant in Every Place,” a free program from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Sanibel Public Library.
This will be an interactive program designed to help you choose plants that are well suited to your landscape. We’ll cover a few basic gardening principles and introduce the University of Florida’s Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Plant Guide, an online tool that helps you find plants based on your location and growing conditions, including sun or shade, plant type, size, flower color, and salt tolerance.
Bring your smartphone, tablet, or laptop so you can practice using the Plant Guide during the program. If possible, have it ready to use before you arrive. Download here
Our goal is to help you feel more confident choosing the right plants for a beautiful, sustainable landscape. Register online here.
