Hussey Presenting ‘Soaring, Flying, Thrilled’ at ABWA Luncheon

Alison Charney Hussey will present “Soaring…Flying…Thrilled! The Love of Philanthropy” at the American Business Women’s Association luncheon February 25th. As Executive Director of Crow Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wild Life, Hussey will explain the irresistible allure of conserving wild life and her journey from a more traditional career in the legal profession.

“If I had any doubt, it was proved wrong on my first rehabilitated wild life release; my healed roseate spoonbill popped out of the transport container, spread its beautiful pink wings and took flight around the mangroves to rejoin its flock,” recalled Hussey. “And so, my time at CROW had begun. I had joined my flock.”

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Hussey built her career at the Pavese Law Firm, serving in the LaBelle and Cape Coral offices in corporate, criminal, family, estate planning, probate, real estate and adoption law. As a Supreme Court Certified Circuit and Family Mediator for over a decade, she became an expert at helping resolve disputes.

“I admit to being a lifelong teambuilder, collaborator, problem solver, fundraiser and animal lover,” smiled Hussey. “It all comes together at CROW Clinic, and I’m so proud to lead and serve with the dedicated professionals and volunteers CROW attracts.”

Hussey is a graduate of the CROW on-site education programs. She earned her law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.

“Alison is an inspiring advocate for applying your professional strengths to your personal passion,” said Chapter President Gloria Garrett of HMG. “We’re looking forward to a great ABWA discussion with Alison about finding the work you love.”

ABWA welcomes the community to their monthly luncheons and to join in the discussion with the presenters showcased in the Women in Leadership Speaker Series. On February 25th at Sundial Beach Resort and Spa, 1451 Middle Gulf Drive, Sanibel, networking starts at 11:30 am with lunch and speaker noon to 1 p.m. for $25.00.
