Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille will celebrate National Mojito Day Saturday, July 11, with a lime jelly bean guessing contest, $250 restaurant gift card prizes and complimentary keepsake mojito glasses for guests who order from the restaurant’s mojito menu, while supplies last.

National Mojito Day is celebrated every July 11, honoring the classic Cuban cocktail.

The celebration will take place at Doc Ford’s four locations in Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and St. Petersburg. Back by popular demand, the third annual contest runs July 5-11 and challenges guests to guess the number of lime flavored jelly beans filling a 16-ounce mojito glass. One entry per guest is allowed and a winner at each location will be notified and announced on social media July 12.

“Mojitos are the quintessential summertime cocktail. They’re cold, crisp and refreshing,” said Joe Harrity, partner with HM Restaurant Group, which manages Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille. “We have six stellar mojitos that offer a variety of flavor profiles, from traditional to tropical.”

Doc Ford’s is also giving away mojito glasses on National Mojito Day to patrons who order from its curated mojito menu, offering spirit-forward mojito variations. Choices include the gold rum-forward traditional island mojito and a tropical mojito with a choice of pineapple, coconut, passion fruit or mango rum. Doc Ford’s also offers a cool cucumber mojito concocted with a choice of Pearl cucumber vodka or 1800 cucumber jalapeño tequila, plus a raspberry lemonade mojito bursting with a tart combination of BACARDÍ raspberry rum, muddled mint, lime, lemonade, cranberry and a splash of soda. There’s even a mule-meets-mojito featuring Deep Eddy lime vodka mixed with ginger beer and lime. The new-to-the-menu tropical mule mojito blends ginger beer and fresh lime with a choice of ruby red, cranberry, lemon or orange Deep Eddy vodkas.

Mojitos pair well with Doc Ford’s appetizers and dinner entrees, including its signature Yucatán shrimp. The award-winning restaurant offers food with a unique balance of flavors inspired by the Caribbean Rim. Known for its sauces, spices and passion, Doc Ford’s is beloved by locals and visitors alike as a spectacular seafood restaurant.

Doc Ford’s, open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., is renowned for delivering a legendary guest experience.

Established on Sanibel in 2003, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille has expanded from its original location to three others: Fort Myers Beach, the St. Petersburg Pier and Jungle Terrace in St. Petersburg. The restaurant is a perennial Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice winner. The pier location was named the country’s No. 1 restaurant for Best of the Best Restaurants for Everyday Eats in 2023.

Philanthropy and community outreach are engrained in HM Restaurant Group’s company philosophy. Proceeds from specialty cocktails at Doc Ford’s have raised over $140,000 to support children’s hospitals in Southwest Florida and St. Petersburg. HM Restaurant Group also supports local nonprofits dedicated to conservation, community, education and the environment. The “Ding” Darling Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament, founded in 2012, has donated over $2 million for conservation and water-quality research at Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The 15th annual tournament is May 7, 2027.
