Messy Church Is All About Animals In August

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

The next free community Messy Church is from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 2304 Periwinkle Way. The theme is animals and the story of Noah’s Ark. There will be fun activity stations for all ages, which will include painting a ceramic rainbow box, building a boat that floats, making animal masks, assembling fruit animals, animal games and more.

The free dinner menu is macaroni and cheese, animal-shaped sandwiches, Caesar salad and dessert. Vegetarian and gluten free meal options are available.

Messy Church was a big hit in July, after all, the theme was Christmas. Joy abounded in a full hall filled with kids and adults decorating Christmas cookies, assembling gingerbread nativities, making fleece blankets and creating beautiful ornaments with the help of several volunteers.

Each Messy Church has oodles of surprise activities to engage all ages. Find out more at St. Michael’s church website or contact Sue Van Oss at 239-472-2173 or by email at communications@saintmichaels-sanibel.org. All are welcome.
