Messy Church Off To Great Start; Superheroes Coming in May

provided to The Santiva Chronicle

Messy Church got off to a great start in April with the first of monthly gatherings held from 4 to 6 p.m. on the second Sunday at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Messy Church is for families of all types, ages 0-100, individuals and partnered adults who are welcomed into a fun atmosphere where they can choose to participate in several themed activity stations. A 15-minute celebration time wraps up the activities and it ends with a delicious free meal.

May’s theme is Superheroes; love is the ultimate super power. If you have a child or teen who likes superheroes, this will be the place to be (adult fans of superheroes will enjoy it too). Activities include making a cape and mask, photo booth, obstacle course, spider web target game, superhero crafts and of course messy things like slime and much more.

It is free, open to all and registration is not necessary. Kids are asked to make sure to bring their favorite adult with them to Messy Church to take part in everything together. Since it is Mother’s Day; moms who attend will receive a special gift for being the super hero in their family.
