Olympic royalty is coming to Southwest Florida on March 6 as three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Rowdy Gaines will kick off The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company’s Speaker Series with “Gold Medal Memories and a Look to Paris 2024.”
A member of the U.S. Olympic and International Swimming Halls of Fame, Gaines will tell tales from his competitive swimming days and his view from the press box for the past 30 years as NBC’s swimming analyst. A native of Florida, Gaines set 10 world records between 1978 and 1984. He has covered swimming at the Olympic Games since 1992.
The event begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at BIG ARTS, 900 Dunlop Road on Sanibel. A continental breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m.
